How Much Money is a Figure?

Simply put, a figure is a number. One figure means anywhere between the numbers of 1 and 9. Two figures means a number that is anywhere between 10 and 99. Three figures is from 100 to 999, and four figures is from 1,000 to 9,999. You get the picture!

A low six figure salary is generally considered to be anywhere from $100,000 to $400,000.

How to Increase Your Income to Get Closer to Six Figures Per Year

You might be reading this article feeling hopeless about your chances of earning a six figure income. If you’ve made it this far, I want you to know that it’s not hopeless!

You don’t have to have a college degree to increase your income. You don’t have to invest a ton of money, either.

True financial independence is achieved through having multiple streams of income.

Multiple income streams mean that you have money coming in through various sources, not just your job!

Different streams of income could include side-hustles, investments, and more. The best way to have multiple income streams is to have passive income – or income that flows with no or minimal work.

Passive income takes work upfront, but pays off in the long run.

Examples of passive income include writing an ebook and selling it on Amazon, blogging and displaying ads on your website, and dividends from investments.

Learn to Increase Your Income and Live On Your Own Terms

If you want to increase your income but feel jaded about working as an employee, I highly suggest starting a side hustle or learning to build your own business.

Starting a side hustle can grow into a business that supports you full-time, and you aren’t dependent on someone else for a paycheck.

If that seems too unpredictable, keep in mind that literally every business that exists today started as a start-up at one point.

Amazon started in a garage. Facebook started in a college dorm. Walmart started as a local mom-and-pop store. If you’re not building your dream, you’re building someone else’s!
