By Carrie Wilder | Last Updated: April 14, 2024

If you’re in the market for a pop up camper, the Rockwood pop up camper line has something for everyone.

I took a really close look at all the available models of Rockwood pop up campers to bring you this in-depth overview of these popular tent trailers!

Each model of the Rockwood tent trailer has something unique to offer. And with the smallest version weighing in at under 2,500 pounds, you can tow one of these with most SUVs and trucks on the market today.

What Is a Pop Up Tent Trailer?

Rockwood Freedom Pop Up Camper on Forest River Inc

A pop up tent trailer is a type of camper that is half hard-wall, half canvas tent. A pop up camper folds down into a small and short box-like trailer for towing and traveling.

When you arrive at the campsite, a pop up tent trailer opens and expands into a large camper with amenities like a kitchen, dinette, one or more beds, and sometimes a bathroom.

If you want to learn more, I wrote an article about everything you ever wanted to know about pop up campers here.

Do Any Rockwood Pop Up Campers Have Bathrooms?

Yes, there are three models of the Rockwood Tent camper that have bathrooms. One model is in the Rockwood Freedom line, and the other two are in the Rockwood Tent High-Wall series.

The Rockwood LTD pop up camper line does not include a bathroom or toilet in any of the floorplans.

So if you want a pop up camper with bathroom, check out the Rockwood Freedom or my personal favorite, the Rockwood High Wall pop up campers.

Are Rockwood Campers Any Good?

Closed Rockwood High Wall camper on Forest River Inc

Rockwood campers are excellent for the price. They’re aesthetically pleasing and loaded with features and amenities. But, that’s not to say they don’t have their problems, too.

The Forest River Rockwood pop up camper reviews on RV Insider come in at 4.2 out of 5 stars, not too shabby!

Here’s a review from a Rockwood High Wall Owner:

“We love the open 360 degree views through large windows. It tows easily, even in high winds. It is quick to set up and you can easily avoid an incoming storm. The triler is very well built with all the comforts of much larger trailers, having a number of extra amenities. My wife and I love the fact that the heater warms the trailer up in minutes. Other features we appreciate are the outside kitchen and barbecue, heated mattresses, LOTS of counter top space (more than many larger trailers), comfortable slide-out dinette, much higher ceiling than regular hard side trailers, 3-burner stove with oven, roof-top AC, and it’s 19 foot length fits in our garage.”

Rockwood Pop Up Campers Have Something For Everyone

Large family or small, weekend trips or larger excursions, bathroom or not: there’s a Rockwood pop up camper to suit any taste.

And with these campers being so budget friendly, there’s not a high barrier to owning one either!
